About: Through different movement styles, we explore distinct personas and pair them with a flower essence of the same energetic tone. As movement and plant converge, the essence blends with the body’s inner waters, allowing expression, sensation, and energy to move as one. The body is the vessel that carries it all. (Participants will receive a personal .5 oz flower essence tincture to take home.)
For this SPRING workshop we will be studying the movement style of JAZZ & the flower essence of Ocotillo. Ocotillo paired with jazz movement explores a persona of boldness, resilience, heat, and sensual confidence. Sharp lines and smooth choreography mirrors the plant’s fiery reach, inviting the body to move with expansion, and root/heart-forward presence. The flower essence of Ocotillo supports this expression, helping the energy to linger beyond the dance.
What are Flower Essences: Flower Essences embody the wisdom and energy teachings of the plant in which they are created. When you work with the energy medicine of the plant, you are choosing to spend time in the healing energy of the plant. Using a flower essence is the act of drinking or anointing oneself in the beauty, the presence, and the unique landscape in which it and its medicine comes from. Flower Essences are the most gentle form of herbal folk medicine but can be the most profound when it comes to healing and repairing our mind + body + spirit connection, when working through challenging + difficult times, when honoring a grief cycle, when remembering pleasure, and when working through trauma to name a few of the many examples. (Usually taken orally but can be diluted in water or applied topically if desired). Flower essences are safe to consume for all but it is always best to consult a physician. NOTE: The personal essence you will be receiving is made with an organic alcohol preservative.
Who is this Workshop for: This workshop is for dancers and non-dancers alike who are curious about movement as a form of creative expression rather than performance. It is especially supportive for those who enjoy exploring different movement styles, moods, and personas without needing prior dance experience or technical training. (18+ or older)
VESSEL is for anyone drawn to:
embodied creativity and self-artistry
seasonal rituals and nature-based practices
movement as a way of sensing, expressing, and exploring energy
plant wisdom and flower essences as gentle allies
dancing for feeling, not perfection
You do not need to be a trained dancer. You do not need to “get it right.” This space is about curiosity, play, and letting movement and plant energy move through you.
